Alberto Badías and Ana Ye, the faces of innovation in Madrid



Ana Ye Zhang She has a degree in Nursing from the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), in Biomedical Engineering from the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and has an MBA from the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM). At 33 years old, He combines his academic training with his clinical experience to promote health innovation projects. After completing her studies and during her career as a Nursing professional, she founded Ownmed Innovation in 2021, a startup that develops medical solutions for people with ostomies, That is, people who have had surgery to create an opening in the abdomen (stoma) that allows them to remove waste from the body when their body cannot do so on its own. Thanks to this, he has been able to develop together with his team Ostofix, its star product.

Ownmed Innovation has received the boost from the Madrid City Council through the Madrid Innovation initiative. According to Ana Ye, this support came because “Ostofix has a real impact on people’s lives.” Furthermore, he adds: “We are a startup scientifically based, but with a very human vision, and that fits very well with the City Council’s commitment to projects that combine innovation, health and social purpose.”

Ana Ye and her team currently work at La Nave, which for the CEO means “an incredible experience that makes you feel that there is real support to innovate.” In addition, he emphasizes the importance of being able to collaborate with other entrepreneurs, as well as the opportunity to have a free space to work, “something fundamental for a startup”, points out.
