Ark Invest makes millionaire investment in Ethereum’s largest holder

  • 4.4 million actions of Bitmine (BMNR) went to ETF of Ark Invest.

  • The amount assigned was about 116 million dollars.

The Ark Invest asset management firm, led by Cathie Wood, completed an investment of 116 million dollars in Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), a company that leads the Global Ranking of Ether Corporate Tenure (ETH), the Ethereum cryptocurrency.

In total, ARK acquired 4.4 million Bitmine shares through several of its funds quoted in the stock market. The main receiver was the ETF of Innovation Arkk, which absorbed almost 2.9 million shares.

This decision occurs at a time when Ether maintains a sustained upward trend, with a current value that exceeds $ 3,700 and a 62% increase in the last month.

Bitmine has emerged as a central figure in the ETH accumulation corporate strategy, being the company with the greatest holdings of this cryptocurrency so far. On June 30, the company closed a private placement of 250 million dollars that allowed it to raise its reservations to 300,657 ETH, as reported cryptootics. These reservations already exceed 1,000 million dollars.

Thomas Lee, president of the Bitmine Board of Directors, indicated that the objective is to acquire and participate in the 5% Staking Staking of Ethereum’s total supply.

Bitmine’s strategy has generated comparisons with that adopted by Strategy, Michael Saylor’s company, in relation to Bitcoin. In this case, the approach is centered on Ether as treasury assets. The support of Ark Invest reinforces this narrative and could stimulate the interest of other institutional actors towards ETH as part of their balances.

In addition to the investment in BMNR, Ark also made a significant divestment in Coinbase (Coin), selling 218,986 shares for an approximate value of 90.6 million dollars. This sale occurs shortly after Coinbase shares reached a historical maximum above 437 dollars, after the approval of the Genius Law in the United States Representatives Chamber.
