Kennedy Jr in favor of Ross Ulbritch
Although attention has been focused on Donald Trump’s statements and the measures taken by President Joe Biden’s cabinet, another who is not far behind is candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who recently referred to the case of the founder of Silk Road and promised to take action on the matter.
In a message published by Kennedy Jr on his official X account, the candidate noted the following:
Ross Ulbricht has been in prison for too long. Two life sentences for hosting an e-commerce platform. Yes, illegal activity took place there, but come on. When I am president I will forgive him.

To ratify his commitment to the above, Kennedy Jr indicated that he would sign the petition for Ulbritch’s release available on the freeross.org portal.
This is not the first time Kennedy Jr. has spoken out in relation to well-known figures within the crypto sector, as he also assured that if he became president of the United States he would also pardon the former agent of the US NSA, Edward Snowden, already the main figure behind Wikileaks, Julian Assange.
Crypto as a focal topic
Although Kennedy Jr has made frequent comments in relation to cryptocurrencies, in recent months there have been statements by other candidates for the US presidency, who seem to understand that digital currencies could be a decisive issue in attracting the support of potential voters.
Particularly noteworthy are the comments made by Donald Trump, who has addressed very precise comments to the crypto community. He assures that if elected he will respect the rights of investors, he will advocate for the self-custody of Bitcoin and other digital currencies, will support crypto mining activities and work so that the future of the sector is in the United States, without leaving aside a possible pardon for Ulbritch if he becomes president of the country.
Another who is not far behind is the current US president, Joe Biden, who has also supported actions in favor of the crypto sector. For example we have the apparent change in the perspective of SEC, who approved ETFs Ethereum in cash and are about to authorize the launch of these products on the stock market.
In the case of Kennedy, he has advocated for the right of citizens to invest in Bitcoin, defended the idea of digital currency as a hedge for the inflationary crisis that the dollar is going through, expressed his rejection of the idea of a digital dollar as a surveillance tool (CBDC), and even revealed that he bought and gave BTC to each of his children.
The next elections are scheduled for early November, so it remains to be established who will be the main candidates who will compete in the presidential race. However, everything seems to indicate that Biden and Trump will be the candidates for the White House who will represent the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively.
