Polygon, One of the best known Ethereum escalation solutions, has just seen how another of its co -founders announces its exit from the project.

Mihailo Bjelic, co -founder of the network, announced his departure from both Polygon Labs as of the Council of the Polygon Foundation. The decision, in his words, is due to important differences in relation to the course that the project should follow.

“As projects evolve and mature, it is natural that visions also change, sometimes they enter into conflict”Bjelic wrote in X. “That said, I can no longer contribute to Polygon to the maximum of my abilities. ” Despite his formal retirement, he said he will continue to support the team “From the stands.”

The path of Polygon

Polygon He was born in 2017 under the name Nuic network, Created by Bjelic with Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal and Anurag Arjun. His main objective was to climb network Blockchain of Ethereum through layer 2 solutions, optimizing costs and speed.

The network earned traction quickly by offering infrastructure compatible with Ethereum which facilitates the creation of decentralized applications (DAPPS), with low rates and high efficiency. Besides, Polygon became a pioneer in technologies such as PROOF-OF-STKE (POS) and zero knowledge tests (ZK).

With a growing community and multiple corporate integrations, Polygon It was positioned as a central actor in the development of the crypto ecosystem.

However, Bjelic’s departure is not the first one that occurs among the founders of the project. Jaynti Kanani and Anurag Arjun had already left their active positions on the network in the last two years.

With the departure of Bjelic, Sandeep Nailwal remains as the only co -founder still in a visible position within the organization.

“More than a co -founder, you are a brother”Nailwal wrote in X. “From the first days – Pizarras filled with ideas, endless Whitepapers, governance frames, strategic calls until dawn – you were a force behind much of what is great to Polygon.”

Polygon 2.0 and token migration Pol

Bjelic’s departure occurs while Polygon advances in one of its most ambitious initiatives: Route 2.0.

This transition includes the migration of your native token, of MATIC to Pol, With a 1: 1 rate. The new Token seeks to expand its usefulness within the ecosystem, including its use in gas commissions, staking and participation in infrastructure such as Agglayer.

This strategy is part of the effort of Polygon for reinforcing its position against other layer 2 solutions and consolidating as a standard in the scalability of Ethereum.
