The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) in Paraguay is investigating the possible collaboration of officials of that institution in the installation of illegal Bitcoin mining farms, reported the president of that entity, Félix Sosa.
In an interview with a local media, Sosa highlighted that the ANDE technical team is carrying out an analysis to determine who is responsible for collaborating. and make clandestine electrical installations to power Bitcoin mining farms.
According to Sosa, ANDE also collaborates with the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry. He revealed that they voluntarily surrender “all the information” that is requested by the Prosecutor’s Office.
“With all the work we are doing, it is a very big effort and we are the first to want to know who could be collaborating” with the installation of these clandestine mining farms.
With the above, the ANDE executive does not rule out the complicity of officials of that organization or outsourced personnel of that institution. to install Bitcoin mining farms illegally to the electrical grid.
He recalled that, for more than 20 years, ANDE has relied on contracting companies in charge of the distribution and transmission of electrical energy. Therefore, the possibility of corruption in these instances arises.
