Pork prices fall in November for the first time since January



Pork became cheaper in November compared to the previous month by 0.1%the first month-on-month decline since January’s 0.2%, according to final data from the last Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The outbreak of African swine fever in Catalonia was declared with the discovery of the first infected wild boar on November 28.

In comparison with November of last year, lpork rises 1.3%, three tenths less than in October and the most moderate increase since March 2022 (+0.9%).

Pork presents the only inter-monthly decrease in November of the main meats. Beef rose by 1.8%, sheep and goats by 0.7% and poultry meat by 0.5%.

In annual rate, the 1.3% increase in pork prices is the most moderate. Beef rose by 18%, sheep by 6.5% and poultry by 4.2%.
