When does the amount increase? How long can it be perceived?
Last Tuesday the Government approved the unemployment benefit reform agreed between Labor and unions (and without the support of employers) that introduces new and important changes in the different benefits that Social Security grants for this concept.
Among the changes agreed between a improvement of the amounts and the introduction of a descending scale of the amount of aid as the time in which the benefit is received passes. How long is unemployment benefit granted? How much does the amount go up?
The amount increases with the new reform
One of the main measures of the reform is an increase in the amounts: aid increases of the current 480 euros (80% of the IPREM) and move to a regressive scale with the passage of time: they will be received 570 euros (95% of IPREM) the first six months subsidy, 540 euros (90% of the IPREM) for the second semester and 480 euros for the rest of the period in which you have access to the benefit.
The amount remains subject to the IPREM and, therefore, if the Government increases its amount, the new amounts of the subsidy will also grow.

What is the duration of unemployment benefits?
As detailed by the SEPE, the duration of the aid is 3, 4 or 5 months if contributions have been made for those periods. If contributions have been made between 6 months and a year, the subsidy can last 6 months in the event that there are no family responsibilities and up to a maximum of 21 months if there are.
