Airline tickets drop in price by 7.5%
Airlines operating in Spain They lowered the price of tickets by 7.5% in April compared to a year earlier, making it seven months down after rising 2% in October 2023.
This is revealed by the final data extracted from the April CPI that establishes the decrease in the price of tickets for international flights by 8.6%, thus continuing the downward trend that began in November of last year after international flights increased since June 2022. In fact, both in July and August of that year they increased more than 20%, its historical record.
Previously, plane tickets to fly abroad practically chained a 21-month streak of declines since the start of the pandemic, which only broke in December 2021 with a slight rebound of 0.2%.

For their part, national banknotes fell 5.4% in April, also for the seventh month after two consecutive months of promotions and the drop in August. Last year they also fell in May, April and January.
The airports in the Aena network closed the month again with a historical recordreceiving 25,669,281 passengers7.8% more than in the same month of 2023.
Of the total travelers in April, 17,471,608 traveled on international flights, 9.2% more compared to April 2023, while 8,140,073 did so on domestic flights, 4.9% more than last year.
