Bitcoin will arrive in “emergency kits” to 10 communities in Latin America
The twenty -one initiative.lat launched Cruzada21, a strategic project that will distribute pay infrastructure kits with Bitcoin (BTC) to 10 communities in Latin America to promote sustainable circular economies.
The plan seeks to connect Communities from Argentina to Bitcoin Berlin in El Salvadorequipping users and merchants with tools to boost BTC transactions in Citadels of Bitcoin.
Each kit includes a bitcoin and lightning node, 15 point of sale terminals (TPV) adapted to receive BTC and 200 collectible cards with NFC technology (close field communication) for contactless payments.
These kits address the main obstacle to the adoption of Bitcoin as is the lack of demand. So facilitating users to spend Satoshis (the smallest unit of Bitcoin), the project guarantees that shops remain active.
After evaluating 26 communities, twenty -one.lat selected 10 for its alignment with the project mission, According to Agustín Kassis, CEO of Crypta, during a recent presentation.
The 10 selected communities are: BTC Isla Mujeres (Mexico), Cuba Bitcoin, BTC Tucumán (Argentina), Bitcoin Berlin (El Salvador), Escuelita Bitcoin (Ecuador), Bitcoin Nea (Argentina), Lago Bitcoin (Guatemala), Satoshi Somos Todos (Dominican Republic), Bitcoin Bolivia and Crypta (Argentina).
A kitcoinar kit to Latin America
Crusade21 drives the Bitcoin’s commercial adoption by facilitating users to spend Satoshisthe smallest unit of the digital currency, thus ensuring the sustained activity of business.
To achieve this, the initiative is committed to NFC cards, the same technology that allows contactless payments (Tap-To-Pay). With them, users simply bring their card to the point of sale to make payment instantaneously.
To encourage their use, the cards become collectible pieces of art designed by 10 Bitcoiners artists in the region. Among them are Leonelzab, Maxibellmann, Josediosok, MSrdigitalart and Valukki.

“We join artists with communities so that they could do specific works for them,” said Kassis who said he is barely starting the first cycle of a macro plan to “bitcoinize Latin America. Now there are 10, but then there will be 20, 30 and up to 1,000 communities ».
“All this is not done alone, we are going to display the Army of the Crypta,” Kassis said. In this way he presented what he called “5 squads that will give direct support to the communities.”
Each team, formed by a “captain” and four “Warriors”, will have The mission of verifying that the nodes are installedthat each community has its website, that the 15 TPV are active before reaching destination and, crucially, document the entire experience.
Promoting the adoption of Bitcoin in three steps
To promote the adoption of Bitcoin, Cruzada’s plan21 will work on the progressive incorporation in three steps:
- 1. Users will begin with simple methods such as NFC cards, linked to wallets managed by the community.
- 2. People will learn to change between different wallet services thanks to open standards such as Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC).
- 3. Finally, with the confidence and knowledge acquired, they will carry out the transition to total self -ocustody, completing the way to financial sovereignty, as detailed in a recent publication in Geyser Fund, a platform that facilitates donations to projects related to the invention of Satoshi Nakamoto.
“While First World countries are talking about inflation and think that BTC does not serve to pay, in the circular economies of Bitcoin in Latin America they are constantly paying with Sats.” The crusade is already underway, ready to prove it, Kassis said.
