By 2025, Repsol will reach 1,500 service stations with 100% renewable fuel

Repsol will close in 2025 reaching 1,500 service stations that already supply their Nexa diesel of 100% renewable originwith which the energy company meets the objective set in the update of its 2024-2027 strategic plan.
Specifically, The energy company has a total of 1,429 stations in Spain and another 71 in Portugalthus offering renewable fuel in more than 40% of its network, positioning itself as the “most relevant in Europe in 100% renewable fuels, reaching more than 210 million liters sold so far this year”, according to the company.
The group led by Josu Jon Imaz pointed out that this demonstrates that “the decarbonization of transportation through renewable liquid fuels is viable in combustion engines“, vehicles that represent 97% of both the Spanish and European mobile fleet and 87% of sales in Spain so far this year.
Repsol’s Customer General Director, Valero Marín, considered that reaching this milestone “represents a key advance” in the group’s strategy to decarbonize transportation and reaffirms its “commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and expanding solutions for the mobility of our customers.”
“We will continue working to offer all the energy alternatives that best suit your needsthus contributing to mobility aligned with the energy transition,” he said.
The highest-end fuel
Nexa Diesel is 100% renewable, Identified by its pink color, it is Repsol’s highest-end fuel, as it has an exclusive formulation that optimizes performance, extends engine life and is designed for all diesel engines.
Likewise, it is produced from raw materials of renewable origin and, with current technology, it is already allows you to reduce your carbon footprint by up to 90% compared to the fossil fuel it replaces, thanks to the lower carbon intensity of the renewable fuel due to its organic origin.
To decarbonize mobility, Repsol is committed to a model that combines all the solutions that reduce emissionssuch as renewable fuels, electrification, AutoGas and renewable hydrogen that the company is developing.
The company indicated that its vision is that “all energy options, including conventional fuels combined with ultra-efficient enginesmust be taken into account to guarantee supply, meet the needs of each client and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the fastest and most cost-efficient way possible.
Opening of a new plant on the peninsula in 2026
In this sense, Repsol now has the first plant in the Iberian Peninsula that produces 100% renewable fuels on a large scale in Cartagena. Specifically, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel.
In 2026, it will add a second floor in its Puertollano centerwith the capacity to produce around 200,000 tons per year of 100% renewable fuel for road and maritime mobility.
Likewise, it adds gasoline of 100% renewable origin, developed by Repsol after more than two decades of research, Nexa 95 Gasoline, the company’s highest quality 95 octane productwhich incorporates an exclusive formulation designed at the Repsol Technology Lab and produced at the Tarragona complex. This fuel is now available at 30 service stations in the Community of Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, the Basque Country and Aragon.
