El Corte Inglés has appointed Cristina Álvarez as the new president of the group, replacing her sister Marta Álvarez, with the unanimous support of the company’s board of directors. The replacement, which will take place on January 15, 2026, occurs within an “orderly, stable and continuous” framework, the group states.
Marta Álvarez, who by personal and voluntary decision takes over from her sister after six years in the position, will continue as a member of the board and the Monitoring commission, focusing on the strategic direction of Own Brands, Fashion and Home Brands.
