Elma Saiz highlights that large Spanish companies are “the true transforming engine of the labor market”

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, highlighted this Wednesday during the opening of the gala presentation of the 1st edition of the Henneo Economy and Business Awards, organized by the Henneo Group with the participation of its two economic publications. Economic information and Business Insider, “values the professionals and companies that They are setting the agenda, with projects in which excellence, innovation and social impact prevail.” Saiz added that the award-winning companies are “from economic transformation, creating opportunities and a fairer economy.” In this sense, he praised “the transformative vision of all winners: companies and professionals who do things well and do so by contributing to the common good.
The head of Social Security has highlighted the current situation in the labor market in Spain. “This week we have seen especially positive employment figures with 522,000 more affiliated people in the last year, 21.8 million members: a historical record,” she noted. For the minister, it is possible to “look with confidence at the goal of 22 million members and the main protagonists of all this are the large Spanish companies: the true transforming engine of the labor market.”
Spain, leader in job creation in Europe
In his opening speech at the Awards, in which companies such as Telefónica, Banco Santander, Ibercaja, Veolia, Philips Morris Spain together with Hiberus and the Government of Aragon collaborate, Saiz highlighted that the Spanish labor market is “an outstanding leader in job creation within the European Union” with a growth of 10.6% and above countries like Italy, France and Germany. “Spanish companies are taking advantage of the competitive advantages of the reforms carried out and betting on sectors with high added value, as well as stable employment, leaving precariousness behind and contributing to creating more and better opportunities.
A fund for social impact
Among the reforms and initiatives that, in the opinion of the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, are helping companies that “they create economic value, cohesion and contribute to the collective future.” Sáiz has mentioned the Social Impact Fund created in the addendum to the Recovery Plan approved in 2024. “With an initial endowment of 400 million euros, which seeks to reinforce impact investments and facilitate access to financing for different entities”, has pointed out about an instrument through which 16 operations have already been financed for an amount of 165 million euros.
“Are ambitious investments aimed at dependent people, with mental health, at the employment of people with disabilities”, the minister clarified about some projects that pursue economic and social profitability. The minister has also taken advantage of her intervention, prior to the awards ceremony, to emphasize that This fund has already received applause from international institutions like the UN and valued “companies that demonstrate that growth can be generated by generating well-being.”
