Exchange in Japan reports loss of more than 4,500 bitcoins in a hack – DiarioBitcoin
The DMM Bitcoin cryptocurrency exchange reported a loss of 4,503 bitcoins worth USD $300 million. They are investigating the cause of the loss.

A exchange cryptocurrency market in Japan just lost more than USD $300 million in Bitcoin (BTC).
DMM Bitcoina platform that offers digital currency trading operations, reported this Friday the loss of 4,502.9 BTC valued at 48 billion yen or approximately USD $305 million.
In a notice posted on its website, the company said it had identified an unauthorized exit from its wallet at around 1:26 p.m. on Friday (local time). “Details of the damage are still under investigation“, the statement reads, “although we have already taken measures to prevent unauthorized leaks“.
The team said there were also “implemented restrictions on the use of some services to ensure additional security” and promised to refund his clients’ money if necessary.
“Rest assured, all your bitcoin deposits will be fully guaranteed as we will acquire the equivalent amount of BTC that was leaked with the support of our group companies“, details the note.
