Ikea reinforces its position in northern Spain with a new 3,000 square meter store in Vitoria

IKEA opened a new store this Thursday in Vitoria-Gasteizof 3,000 square meters outside the El Boulevard Shopping Center. The new store has commercial space dedicated to Exhibition, Self-service, Accessories and Circular Market, to which is added a restaurant space of 185 square meterswhere you can try typical Swedish dishes and buy products from this country at the Swedish Food Store. However, the new Vitoria store has a strategic character since it will allow the Swedish company to reinforce its logistics muscle in the north of Spain. Specifically, due to its strategic location, the store is complemented with a space for 1,200 square meters for warehouse, preparation and shipping of sofas to different areas of the Basque Country, Cantabría, Navarra and La Rioja. For the CEO of IKEA Spain, Carl Aaby, who recently joined the company: “IKEA Vitoria-Gasteiz is an example of the new stage that we are experiencing in the company, where we are promoting a totally omnichannel model, more efficient and connected to its environment.”
For the store director, the establishment reinforces its commitment to sustainability “by offering second-hand IKEA products, as well as pieces from our exhibition or from ranges that are being retired, at very affordable prices. Because Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Green Capital, deserves an IKEA that promotes a Circular Market.” Furthermore, on the occasion of this opening, the Swedish company has delivered a check valued at 500 euros to the first person who has accessed the store, as well as another of €300 to the second and five of €100 to the next five.
