Indra sells its service outsourcing business to the Basque firm Teknei for 96.6 million

Indra has sold its service outsourcing business in Spain, Colombia, Italy, Peru, Mexico, Chile and Portugal to the Basque company Teknei for 96.6 million euros, as reported in a statement. Indra’s decision to sell this business – which is part of Minsait – is part of the company’s strategic plan, focused on strengthening its position in defense, aerospace and advanced digital technologies.

“Both companies will work together to ensure a fluid integration for professionals, teams and clients,” Indra detailed. The acquisition of Indra’s service outsourcing (BPO) business represents for Teknei an operation aligned with its strategic growth plan, with which it plans to reach 1,000 million euros in turnover in 2030.

In addition, the purchase reinforces its position in the technological services and process outsourcing market, where it has large clients in sectors such as banking, insurance and public administration. “The sale of BPO to Teknei will guarantee operational continuity and quality of service for all clients through the transfer of contracts and technology. One of the central axes of the sale has been the orderly transfer of professionals,” Indra stressed.

“The agreement includes a social clause that ensures the transfer of more than 5,000 workers to Teknei, with the commitment not only to maintain their jobs for at least two years after the closure of the operation, but also to maintain their current conditions and seniority,” he added.

The CEO of Indra, José Vicente de los Mozos, has highlighted that this movement allows the company to advance its strategic plan and direct its investments to the “priority sectors” contemplated in its roadmap. For his part, the CEO of Teknei, Joseba Lekube, has assured that the acquisition of Indra’s BPO business will help increase the scale of his company and strengthen its position in the technological services market.

“With the incorporation we add critical capabilities in complex processes and highly specialized talent, offering more complete, innovative solutions adapted to the needs of our clients. We are convinced that it will be a lever to accelerate our growth and get us closer to our goal set for 2030,” he highlighted.
