PP & Vox: cohabitation marriage

What happened between PP and Vox could end up being a marriage of coexistence or convenience on a large scale, not without a certain amount of understanding or, unfortunately for both, with a lot of dissidence. It will be seen shortly. When two need each other it is because they love each other or agree to each other.and they look for common points rather than circumstantial differences that make their existence bitter. Let’s not forget that Vox is like Adam’s rib, to put it biblically; It was born from the popular core of the party that gave it its essence, but it was born with so much autonomy, with so much rebellion, that it has become a creature with its own life (and its own votes).

No matter how much PP and Vox look alike, they are not the same. There are differences that both take advantage of, although Pedro Sánchez also takes advantage of them in another sense, logically. Those from Abascal pull towards the extreme right, those from Feijóo towards the extreme center. We must find out if this combination, not only in Valencia, but throughout the national territory, can give them an appealing result to offer a new political cocktail. Most of Vox’s proposals tend to have some common sense, but their stories and their speakers rise above average to attract more attention and that is when they lose a good part of their ideological essence to become an extremist party.

Perhaps that is their main objective, to achieve in a society with so much noise that they are heard and listened to more than their rival. But this future marriage will have to take place at the time if they do not want to outrage and piss off their voters more than necessary, who They could end up desperate and despising them both. This union can be feasible by applying a certain percentage of liberal reduction, by the popular ones, and another percentage of radical conservatism applied by the ‘voxeros. With this formula it is not easy to achieve although in these times is working in most countries of Europe, perhaps the alchemy required to ensure future governance will be achieved.

Valencia with Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca as the new president will be another dress rehearsal for both teams. In any case, the candidate knows that his days are numbered, first with the obligatory support of Vox, and then as “transitional” president at the head of the Generalitat, since the PP of Genoa, which is where the cod is cut on the right, has made it clear that it reserves the power to elect the candidate for eventual elections, which would be on March 22 if there is no agreement with Abascal’s party, or in 2027, which is the preferred scenario. by the national leadership of the PP.

However, not everything is written or tied down. It will depend on the conditions that Vox demands and puts on the table, and what the popular ones are willing to offer. I don’t think they are so foolish – although in politics today anything is possible – to ruin the governability of such an important region for a take those straws away from me. Pérez Llorca does not enter in politics Valencian Like a parachutist fallen from the sky, he has been mayor of Finestrat and is a party man in the PPCV. On the other hand, He has a track record and a “discreet and moderate” profile that he has managed to develop effectively in political and journalistic fields.

The great advantage and main asset of Pérez Llorca is his good knowledge and good treatment with the “parents of the bride”: in recent years He has been the negotiator of the Valencian PP in the pacts with Vox. And that makes things much easier for a possible agreement. In addition, he has also been a close collaborator of former president Carlos Mazón; Juanfran, as those close to him usually call him, is the squire who was always there without bothering too much, and what could be better than putting someone he trusted to watch over the “business” after the big storm.
