Primark and unions agree on a salary increase of up to 9% in the next 3 years

The clothing chain Primark together with Workers’ Commissions (CCOO) and Fetico, they have closed an agreement this Tuesday to seal a collective agreement that includes a salary increase of 9% between 2026 and 2028as advanced by Commissions in a press release. According to both unions, the aforementioned salary increase will be distributed proportionally each year – 3% – and that the increases will be above the CPI averagereports EFE. Which will guarantee that the chain’s almost 10,000 workers in Spain have greater purchasing power.
Furthermore, from the Workers’ Commissions, they have highlighted that the bonuses at the end of holidays and Sundays worked by almost 38% in the next 3 years of validity of the new agreement. They will go from 45 euros to 55 euros in 2028. Likewise, they have added qualified breaks have increased in 12 days for the workforce that has a working day of 5 days per week on average and up to 6 days for those who have a working day of 4 days per week on average.
The agreement has been reached between CCOO, which has 42.56% of the representation, and Fetico, with 33.56%, while UGT (with 13.8%) has postponed the signing for the next few days. The agreed agreement also involves the reduction of annual working hours up to 1,765 hours per year by 2026 and which will decrease to 1,760 hours a year later and 1,755 hours annually by 2028. Likewise, the agreement states that employees will have twelve weekends off per year. While the so-called irregular working day will remain at 5%, far from the 10% established by the Workers’ Statute.
The general secretary of Fetico, Antonio Pérez, has assured that this collective agreement “is “a great achievement that brings job stability to the company” and has insisted that its efforts are now focused on the agreement of the sector of large textile and footwear brands. “We are sure that it will advance soon and will become a milestone for the entire sector,” he concluded.
