Unemployed people who do not have the right to the contributory benefit or unemployment subsidy due to failing to meet requirements, there is the possibility of requesting the Active Insertion Income (RAI).
This non-contributory benefit, which can be requested from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), is subject to compliance with a series of requirements, as explained by the public administration on its website.
Requirements to apply for Active Insertion Income
- Be in a situation of unemployment.
- Be registered as job seeker (and maintain this condition during the period of receiving the benefit).
- Subscribe the activity commitment (commitment to active job search and training, information, orientation or insertion actions).
- Be under 65 years old.
- Not have gross monthly income greater than 75% of the minimum wage (or the income of the family unit, if applicable).
What is RAI?
The RAI is granted during a maximum term of 11 months and is charged with effect from the day following the submission of the application to the SEPE.
The amount granted is 480 euros per month, which corresponds to 80% of the Multiple Effects Public Income Indicator (IPREM) for this year 2024. It may increase or decrease in the following cases:
- If the applicant is a victim of gender violence and has changed their residence in the last year, they can request three additional months of RAI.
- If you start working as a self-employed person or as an employee, the RAI is suspended, and 25% of the amount may be granted for 6 months. If it is part-time, the amounts will be calculated proportionally.

- Completed application form.
- DNI/NIE or passport.
- Bank ownership document with the account number.
- Family Book or Civil Registry documentation.
