sends its proposal to unions and employers and will hold weekly meetings
The Government moves one step further into the negotiation to try to reduce the maximum working day from the current 40 hours per week to 37.5 in 2025. The second vice president held by Yolanda Díaz will soon present a document to unions and employers with his proposal to cut working time; closes the parallel technical table in which the social agents negotiated and will celebrate weekly meetings from now on for make faster the process. All of this in the interest of “closing as soon as possible” this folder, which is destined to be the star measure for the Ministry of Labor this term.
The Secretary of State for Employment and Díaz’s ‘number two’, Joaquín Pérez Rey, explained this Monday at a press conference that The bipartite table in which unions and employers negotiated has been closed “in the absence of significant progress.” From now on, Labor will take the reins of the negotiation and all issues will be debated in three groups as is usually done in social dialogue.
As a sign of interest in closing this file quickly, Pérez Rey has announced that Labor will put on the table a document that will be sent to the social agents “as soon as possible.” YesThis is the first time that Díaz’s department has proposed a black-on-white proposal., something that had not been done until now to respect the other table, the Secretary of State has justified. The proposal will be sent to unions and employers so that they can study it in sufficient time before the meeting next Monday at 12:00 p.m.

Pérez Rey has stressed that “all the meetings that are necessary will be held with the intensity that is necessary” to be able to send a closed text to Parliament as soon as possible. “We are working in the hope that that can be done before we go on vacation.” We are not going to hide that this table is the most important table of all those that will be held during this legislature,” he added.
