The average expenditure of each Spaniard on the next ‘Black Friday’ will be almost 280 euros

The average expenditure planned for this Black Fridaywhich officially starts on November 28, stands at 278 euros, two points less than the previous year, and consumers between 35 and 44 years old stand out, who plan to spend an average of 295 euros, above the national average, according to the new edition of the study on spending intentions of Spaniards on this date carried out by the Cetelem Observatory.
The report also highlights that 68% of Spaniards plan to make purchaseswhich represents a decrease of two points compared to 2024. Young people (18 to 24 years old) are the most predisposed to participate, among whom up to 80% assure that they will buy on ‘Black Friday’. They are followed by consumers between 25 and 34 years old, with 77%.
Regarding the purchasing model, un 49% of consumers will combine in-person and online shoppingnine percentage points more than in 2024. The online channel is reduced to 40%, 11 percentage points less than the Black Friday 2024. On the other hand, purchases exclusively in physical stores stand at 11%, three points higher than the previous year. It is the youngest (18 to 24 years old) who plan to buy only in a physical store, 21% of them (compared to the 11% national average).
Fashion and footwear continue to lead purchases at this commercial event, since the products with the highest purchase intention are clothing, for 65% of those surveyed (remaining stable compared to the previous year), and footwear, for 58%. The health and beauty category remains at 41% and mobile devices at 40%. On the other hand, products such as appliances (35%), toys (32%) or homes (22%) register falls compared to last year, which confirms “greater containment in non-essential purchases,” according to Cetelem.
75% of Spaniards assure that they will take advantage of the Black Friday discounts to bring forward Christmas shopping (three points less than in 2024). In addition, 20% of consumers will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their purchases and 88% of them will do so as a price comparator.
“Although the purchasing percentage remains significant, The slight drop of two points compared to 2024 reflects a more cautious attitudewith a consumer who plans better and analyzes more before spending,” Cetelem stressed.
