  • Trump speaks out again in favor of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies
  • Promises that the US will be part of the future of Bitcoin and digital currencies
  • He also assures that he will end the war that the Biden administration has against this sector
  • Now it is very evident that the crypto issue has a lot of political relevance in these elections

In case there was any doubt, everything seems to indicate that cryptocurrencies are one of the most important focuses for the upcoming elections in the US, something that former president and candidate Donald Trump seems to have very much in mind.

Trump more pro-crypto than ever

At a new event for his presidential campaign held yesterday in Florida, Trump once again spoke out in relation to Bitcoin and to cryptocurrencies, ensuring that if he becomes president “will end Joe Biden’s war” against these assets, guaranteeing their future in US territory.

Specifically, Trump said the following:

I will end Joe Biden’s war on cryptocurrencies and ensure that the future of cryptocurrencies and the future of Bitcoin are made in the United States.

With these comments, Trump ratifies his support for the community of crypto users residing in the US, which implies a notable change in his original perspectives. Let us remember that he was previously skeptical towards these assets, but now during his campaign, these types of comments tend to be more frequent, seeking the support of the ecosystem and taking advantage of the vacuum generated by the policies under the Biden administration.

In several of his campaign meetings, Trump has made comments in favor of cryptocurrencies. On one occasion he called himself “crypto president”and in another he guaranteed that he would defend at all costs the right to self-custody of Bitcoin and other assets of this nature.

Biden doesn’t want to be left behind either

On Biden’s part, he does not seem to want to be left behind. Although there have been no pronouncements, perhaps the most notable thing was the approval by the SEC of ETFs Ethereum in cash, products that were considered rejected after the hostility with which the regulatory agency has acted in recent months.

In a surprising turn of events, last month the SEC approved applications for ETF Ethereum in cash, but the formal approval of a final form is still missing for them to begin operations on the US stock market, which is believed to happen just before the elections to create a friendlier environment for the crypto sector with clear electoral intentions.

Looking ahead to his campaign, several reports suggest that Biden is exploring the possibility of adopting cryptocurrencies as a financing mechanism for his electoral campaign. If it occurs it would be done through Coinbase Commerce, payment service from the eponymous exchange that allows merchants to accept dozens of digital currencies for donations.

For now, the next elections will take place on November 5, with Trump and Biden appearing as the main representatives of the parties Republican and Democrat, respectively.
