The Government will approve the first public job offer with a 10% reservation of places for people with disabilities
The Minister for Digital Transformation, José Luis Escrivá, announced this Monday that the Council of Ministers to be held this Tuesday, July 2, will approve the announced public employment offer of more than 40,000 positions for 2024 and that “For the first time” 10% will be reserved for people with disabilities.
He Minister Escriva The news was announced at a forum to present a study on how technology can alleviate unwanted loneliness, organised by the ONCE Foundation. According to Escrivá, there will be 3,000 places in total, 600 of which will be reserved for people with intellectual disabilities.

The normative Since December 2023, the Royal Decree-Law requires that no less than 10% of public places be reserved for people with some type of disability. The public offer approved this Tuesday will be the first to comply with the Royal Decree-Law. In the last offers, 7% of places had been reserved.
The decree required the creation of units for the inclusion of disabled personnel in each Ministry to ensure workplace adaptation measures and ensure full incorporation and professional development in their work environment.
More than 40,000 places
The public employment offer for 2024 will be slightly higher than that of 2023, with some 40,000 places that would mark a new record for the fourth consecutive yearAccording to union sources, 20,840 positions will be open and at least 10,600 will be for internal promotion. These will be joined by the offer from the Armed Forces and State Security Forces and Corps, with 6,520 open and 2,161 for internal promotion.
The vacancies not filled from previous years will be called again, after the Civil Service has detected that at least 3,000 places from the 2022 and 2023 offers remain vacant so far, so they will be added to this new offer.
