In this way, in the case of gasoline, we would have to go back to dates before the outbreak of the Ukrainian war to find a lower price -in the first week of October 2021-, although it is true that, with the subsidies that were applied due to the energy crisisthe price at the pump was lower for quite some time at later dates. For diesel, this week’s 1.4 euros per liter It is the lowest level since the end of last October.
With these decreases, so far in 2025, gasoline has dropped by 4.85% compared to the end of the previous year, while diesel is almost 3% cheaper compared to the price at which it ended in 2024.

For its part, for gasoline vehicles, filling an average tank (55 liters) currently represents an outlay of about 79.8 euros, about 3.85 euros less than a year ago, when it exceeded 83.65 euros.
Also, one more week, the average price per liter of diesel It remains below the levels it was at before the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, when it was 1,479 euros per liter. Gasoline, meanwhile, also remains below the price of the 1,591 euros per liter that it had at that time. Furthermore, both fuels remain far from the highs recorded in the summer of 2022, in July, when gasoline reached 2,141 euros and diesel 2.1 euros.
Diesel has now been below the price of gasoline for 147 weeks. It remains like this in the usual situation before the Russian invasion of Ukrainewhich caused the price of diesel to be more expensive than that of gasoline continued from August 2022 until mid February 2023, when the dynamic was broken.
The price of fuel depends on multiple factors, such as its specific price. (independent of oil)the evolution of crude oil, taxes, the cost of raw materials and logistics and gross margins. Furthermore, the evolution in the price of crude oil It is not directly transferred to fuel prices, but rather with a temporary offset.
