Tobacconists can be integrated into the Post Office network to send and deliver packages



Correos Express and the Union of Tobacconists of Spain have signed a collaboration agreement so that all associated tobacconists who wish to do so can join the Correos Group’s network of convenience points, ‘Punto Correos’, according to a joint statement.

Through this alliance, the more than 13,000 existing tobacconists in Spain They will be able to offer delivery, package collection and reverse logistics services to their customers, with the support of the Correos Group and the intermediation of the Tobacconists’ Union, which will coordinate and manage the subscriptions.

In this way, Correos Express expands its logistics network, which already has more than 10,000 active collection points in Spain. According to the statement, ‘Punto Correos’ contributes to “bringing logistics services closer to citizens, reducing the environmental footprint of deliveries and generating new opportunities for local commerce.”

The tobacconists’ association emphasizes that tobacconists who join the network “They will obtain additional income, greater visibility and will reinforce their role as a local business in their neighborhoods”. In addition, they will have “training, technical support and continuous accompaniment.”

For his part, the president of the Estanqueros Union, Miguel Ángel Martínez Cuadrado, has stressed that this alliance is an “important step” in its transformation process, since allows them to offer “a new service to citizens, and, at the same time, a source of extra income for tobacconists”.
