These amounted to up to 8,000 euros per beneficiary and, according to the well-known Valencian businessman, “the only conditions we set was that they had to open the business” and he highlighted that “there were 9 people who even returned it, because they said they were not going to open.” Along these lines, he added that in this context his entire family also supported this initiative.
Mercadona’s 5 priorities
Roig has pointed out about Mercadona’s mission that its mission is to satisfy “in this order to the client (the boss), second to the worker, third to the supplier, society and capital.” A sequence to which he has attached great importance. “We believe that the 5 are equally important although you have to order them, anything we do in this order will be good for the client, the worker, the supplier, the capital and society,” highlighted the main person in charge of the Valencian chain. In his opinion, “each one does their own type of company, but we believe in this and we are doing very well.”
Roig has referred to the hundreds of Mercadona employees on several occasions, highlighting that they must “be satisfied and committed to the company: I am very proud of the 120,000 workersmore and more committed.” Along these lines, he has delved into the fact that it is not just about adding hands but also having your heart and brain encouraged. “You can buy more hands, but to also have money “You need him to be treated well, like a human being,” The president of Mercadona has pointed out, who has given as an example that his managers are paid up to 2,100 euros per month net.
