Carlos Body launches to speak in Chinese during a meeting with more than 400 companies in Chengdu
The Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Body, participated this Tuesday in the inauguration of the Spain-China Business Meeting with more than 400 companies to strengthen business cooperation between both countries in the industrial, technological and consumer sectors. Just as he did on a previous trip to Japan, in which he spoke in Japanese, this time Corps has made an intervention in Chinese.
Thus, he greeted the attendees and was pleased to participate in the opening of the meeting with Chinese and Spanish companies. “Good morning everyone. It is an honor for me to inaugurate this business meeting between Spain and China”he said in Chinese. The meeting, organized by ICEX in the city of Chengdu, was attended by King Felipe VI – who presided over the inauguration – and the participation of 260 Chinese and 180 Spanish companies, which seek to strengthen their presence in China and strengthen collaboration with their institutions and companies.
During the meeting, Corpus stated that “Spanish and Chinese companies already act as global partners, generating synergies that open up new business opportunities.” The Minister of Economy stressed that “this cooperation not only promotes bilateral growth, but also reaffirms confidence in multilateralism and is committed to trade openness and stability in an increasingly interdependent world.”
The meeting took place in two complementary sessions: The first brought together the president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi, focused on institutional alliances and cooperation between the two countries, while the second was of a business nature. The meeting also highlighted the presence of a group of Spanish managers to highlight the role of women in the internationalization of the Spanish economy.
