‘Christmas afternoon’ and business meals increase the turnover of bars at Christmas by 5%

The increase in demand at Christmas also leaves the restaurant business with the need to increase templates, a complex issue for the sector since it represents a cost increase for business, the general secretary of the employers’ association has lamented. “These types of celebrations are always supplemented with what we call the ‘extras’. It is true that since we had the reform of the Workers’ Statute and the discontinuous fixed term was incorporated, it has added rigidity and an extra cost,” he added.

Christmas menus in data

According to the analysis of the Christmas campaign prepared by Hospitality of Spain, 42.1% of consumers choose on this date to menus between 30 and 45 euros, followed by 31.6% who choose a menu between 45 and 55 euros. Only 7.9% of consumers choose a Christmas menu of more than 75 euros, while the rest range between 55 and 65 euros.

For the majority of businesses, the prices of these menus have increased, 58.8% of those surveyed by the employers consider that their price has increased compared to the previous year; 40% believe that they have remained the same and 1.3% that they have decreased. Likewise, the feeling of the sector points to a stabilization in reserves For these dates: 45.2% of those surveyed by the employers believe that there are the same reserves as in 2024, 38.7% consider that there are less and 16.1% that there are more.
