Dia will build its second largest warehouse in Antequera (Málaga) with which it will create 200 new jobs

The supermarket group Daytogether with the real estate fund and asset manager IBA Capital and the financial group Dunas capital, are going to promote the construction of a new warehouse in Antequera, in the new logistics center in Puerto Seco de Antequera. The new facilities, whose opening is scheduled for the first half of 2027will have a total area of more than 64,000 square meters. In this way, it becomes the second largest warehouse in its logistics structure. All this, after a planned investment of 47 million of euros.
This new warehouse is part of the Strategic Plan 2025-2029 and follows the new warehouse models that the companies have been developing in recent years, such as those that have opened in Toledo, Seville and León. The works will be carried out by Grupo Bertolín. It is estimated that the new facilities will generate 200 new jobs in the Andalusian town. In addition, this new logistics center will serve more than 300 stores in Eastern Andalusia for high turnover products and more than 500 stores throughout Andalusia for so-called slow moving items. In this way, the supermarket chain hopes to optimize its logistics process.
More than 200 trucks and 300,000 boxes a day
The distributor estimates that the new warehouse will have a capacity for more than 5,000 references and almost 36,000 pallets stored. The facilities have been designed to achieve a daily movement of more than 300,000 boxes. Something that Dia believes will allow it to “optimize” its distribution processes and provide better service to this area of the country. In addition, the platform will have 127 reception and dispatch docks, in addition to managingr a daily flow of more than 200 truckss, adding the input and output operations.
For Alejandra Fragoso, regional director of Dia in Eastern Andalusia, the launch of this new logistics center “It represents another step in our commitment to continue growing and improve our ability to respond to the present and future demands of consumers in the region.” In his opinion, the future logistics center is “a decisive advance in our commitment to Andalusia, a community in which Dia already contributes 0.7% of GDP and 0.6% of employment.” The facilities to be built in Malaga are part of the distribution group’s project to optimize its logistics for which it has set, among other goals, increasing capacity, prioritize strategic locations that reduce distances to the store and the introduction of improvements to make processes more agile and faster.
