The final stretch of Christmas is approaching and with it comes another of the most special moments of these dates: the arrival of the Three Wise Men from the East. That day it is a tradition in homes to celebrate this event by tasting a kings roscón.

For this group, which each year carries out an analysis of this product in the cream-filled variety, the best “are those that maintain soft aromas of citrus and orange blossom and, above all, those that use butter and sugar in the dough”.

To facilitate the task of households, 20 minutes has compiled the prices of several roscones de Reyes, especially those filled with 100% creamthe most demanded by consumers, which are sold in the main supermarket chains operating in Spain.

Mercadona

This year Mercadona, the leading Spanish distribution chain, offers consumers the roscón de Reyes de nata at a a price of 9.30 euros per unit (€11.63/kg). The weight of each container is 800 grams. The rest of the roscones (the one with cocoa and the one with cream) cost the same as the one with cream, with the exception of the normal one without filling, which you can buy for 6.30 euros (400 grams), and the gluten-free one, which costs 9.50 euros (360 grams).

Carrefour

The French supermarket chain offers a wide variety of roscones and has the best supermarket cream roscón, according to the OCU. Lidl

Lidl offers the Christmas sweet filled with cream for a price of 11.05 euros/kilo or what is the same, €8.29 per container. Each La Cestera unit weighs around 750 grams. In 2025, this chain’s roscón de nata achieved third place in the study carried out by the OCU and has been called a ‘master purchase’ due to its good quality-price ratio. The roscón Normal without filling has an unbeatable price: it costs 5.19 euros but weighs 400 grams (€12.98/kg).

aldi

aldi offers under its brand El Horno Real, a 700 gram donut of cream for €7.79 per unit (€11.13/kg). The German chain offers another 700-gram filled roscón at a price of 6.99 euros (€9.99/kg). On the other hand, we can buy the 450-gram unfilled roscón for 5.89 euros (€13.09/kg).
