Iberdrola begins the construction in the northern sea of its largest marine wind farm
Iberdrola He has installed the first monopilote of his Marine Wind Park East Anglia Three, the third project of the company inside its complex East Anglia Hub, located 60 kilometers from the coast in the North Sea (United Kingdom), and which will be the largest park in Iberdrola and the second largest in the world, with an expected investment of about 4,680 million euros.
With a height of 84 meters, 1,800 tons of weight and 10.6 meters in diameter, monopilotes represent a record in the marine wind industry by becoming the largest installed to date with a self -elevable ship in Europe. This first piece has been manufactured in the Seanergies shipyard in Fenebuilt by renewable Navantia and Windar, and installed by Seaway Ventus.
East Anglia Three It will have a total of 95 monopilotes which will be built by Spanish companies. The UTE Navantia Senergies-Windar Renewables (JVNW) will manufacture 45 of them, while Haizea will manufacture the remaining 50. In addition, Windar renewable too will produce the 95 park transition pieces. Each of these pieces has 20 meters high, 8 meters in diameter and more than 400 tons of weight and the first one has also been installed. For its part, the 95 turbines, of 14.7 MW each, will be from Siemens Gamesa.

When the 95 turbines are installed, foreseeably at the beginning of 2026 and will be able to Generate 1,400 MW of energyenough to supply sustainable, native and competitive electricity to more than 1.3 million families in the United Kingdom.
Only the construction of the 45 monopilotes by Navantia-Windar, will be a total of 900,000 hours of work during an execution period of 15 months, which is already generating around 450 jobs between the two companies and collaborating auxiliary industry, producing a tractor effect on the Spanish industry. The relationship between Iberdrola and Navantia -Windar already has more than 10 years and contracts for a value greater than 1,000 million euros, with orders for the marine wind farms of energy in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the United States.
Iberdrola began building East Anglia hub in 2022. The complex groups three projects with a total installed capacity of 2,900 MW: East Anglia One North, East Anglia Two East Anglia Three. This power is sufficient to Supply clean energy to 2.7 million British households and represents more than 7.5% of the target of 40 GW of marine wind energy set by the United Kingdom government by 2030.
