The plane that will operate this route is A330-200, twin-engine and 15% more efficient, with capacity for 288 passengers, 19 in Business and 269 in Tourist, which will mean an offer of more than 50,000 seats between both capitals in these five months of operation.
The flights will leave Madrid at 12:10 p.m. facilitating connections with Washington from other points in Spain and Europe.
Promotion of the Madrid destination
For Madrid, the United States is the first country outside the European Union to send tourists and the capital’s City Council wanted to take advantage of the launch of Iberia flights to Washington to promote the Madrid destination.
For this reason, the A330/200 with which Iberia will operate its first flight to Washington is vinyl with the main tourist attractions of the Spanish capital and carries on its fuselage the images of the Puerta de Alcalá, the Retiro Park, the Royal Palace and the statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree.
Starting this Wednesday Iberia will also operate to Dallas, the great metropolis in North Texas. They have been programmed with four weekly frequencies (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) and operated by A330/200 aircraft with capacity for 288 passengers.

Dallas is the great ‘hub’ of American Airlines, which ensures a great connectivity within the United States for customers within the joint business agreement that Iberia maintains with American Airlines, British Airways and Finnair for the operation of routes between Europe and the North Atlantic.
This summer Iberia also returns to San Francisco, route that had to be interrupted during the pandemic. Until September 30, three weekly flights have been scheduled (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with departures at 12:20 p.m. also to facilitate connections. The aircraft scheduled to operate the route is the A330/200, with capacity for 288 passengers.
Only IAG group airlines offer direct flights with San Francisco; Iberia from Madrid and LEVEL also from Barcelona, with four weekly frequencies (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday)
Strong commitment to the United States
With all these routes, the airline shows its strong commitment to the United States, the country that concentrates its greatest capacity, and where will go from six to nine destinations in the summer season.
