The fine that García Ortiz must pay for the case of González Amador, Ayuso’s boyfriend, after the Supreme Court’s conviction

The Supreme Court has condemned the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz for the crime of disclosure of reserved data. The consequences include a fine, special disqualification for two years and payment for the defense of Ayuso’s partner, Alberto González Amador, plus one compensation of 10,000 euros for moral damages.
The reason? Leaking confidential information concerning González Amador to the media. Even so, the sentence acquits him of the rest of the crimes (which requested between 4 and 6 years in prison and up to 12 years of disqualification) for which he was accused, including prevarication and omission of the duty of custody of documents.
The fine that García Ortiz must pay
The crime, included in article 417.1 of the Penal Code, includes a fine of 12 months with a daily fee of 20 euros. That is, 7,300 euros which must be paid “as of its notification in legal form”, as indicated by the Communication Office of the Supreme Court. From there they also clarify that It was not a unanimous decision.two of the 7 magistrates in the case voted against.
The Government, for its part, has announced that “the process of appointment of a new State Attorney General“, ensuring that “he will be a person of the highest professional prestige in the field of Law.” Likewise, they have let it be known that although they “respect the ruling” they do not share the decision of the high court.
The compensation that must be paid to González Amador
As has been said, García Ortiz has been sentenced by the Supreme Court to pay 10,000 euros as compensation for moral damages to Alberto González Amador. Originally, González Amador had claimed compensation of up to 300,000 euros, arguing “continued moral damage” due to the media story and the accusations he received after the email leak.
