The new stores that Lidl opens in Spain at the start of 2026

The German chain Lidl begins 2026 betting on growth in Spain with the opening of two new supermarkets in January in Madrid and Malaga, after investing eight million euros and which have meant the creation of 68 jobsas reported by the company in a statement.
Specifically, with these openings in Madrid and Malaga, the chain incorporates more than 2,500 square meters of commercial space to its structure, reinforcing a national network that already exceeds 700 points of sale.
In this way, customers will be able to find in these new establishments the company’s usual assortment, which covers a wide variety of fresh products (fruit and vegetables, meat and fish or freshly baked bread and pastries) and multiple refrigerator items, packaged dry goods, beverages, cosmetics, personal hygiene and cleaning. All of this is complemented by an offer of regional references, exclusive bazaar products and the usual international food theme weeks.
In this way, andOn Friday, January 23, a new point of sale will open at Paseo del Doctor Vallejo-Nájera 43 in Madridwhich has a sales area of more than 1,150 square meters.
While a week later, On January 30, a new store will open in Malaga, 60 in the city and will have nearly 1,300 square meters of sales room.
Lidl has indicated that the materialization of these openings is key to the continuation of your expansion plan, which is governed by sustainability criteria and a long-term vision to strengthen its national presence.
The company’s roadmap for fiscal year 2025 (March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026) contemplates an iInvestment destined to the inauguration of a figure close to 50 establishments throughout Spain. Of these, around 40 points will be newly created and the remaining will focus on the modernization and expansion of existing centers.
