The telecommunications company Ericsson has informed its staff in Spain of its intention to carry out a collective dismissal, as stated in the letter that the company has sent to the workers.
“After an exhaustive analysis of the current situation of the company, to ensure our competitiveness in the current complex environment in which we operate and improve our efficiencywe have made the difficult and necessary decision to initiate a collective dismissal procedure at Ericsson Spain. This decision has been communicated this morning to the EEM unions, through the relevant communication of intention to start the process,” the statement indicates.
In the coming days, the unions will have to designate the representatives who will form the negotiating table for the Employment Regulation File (ERE), of which the magnitude is unknownand, after that, a negotiation period will begin that will last around a month.

We understand the concern that this announcement entails. The company has around 2,400 workers in Spain At this time, however, the areas of activity that will be affected by the ERE are still unknown.
