“It’s enough to demonize those who create jobs. Without entrepreneurs who take risks, there are no companies”

Being an entrepreneur in Spain is a challenge for many. Although there is increasing support for entrepreneurship, Self-employed people and small businesses have to face hundreds of factors every day.: tax burden, labor costs, administrative complexity, etc. This circumstance, together with the current global uncertainty, high energy prices or the difficulty in accessing adequate financing, makes people interested in having their own company think more than twice before embarking on this adventure.

Despite this year, the entrepreneurial spirit is still present in hundreds of Spaniards, especially young people who seek independence and development. In this sense, the billionaire Jose Elias He wanted to come out in defense of businessmen. For many, it is a reference in economics and business management. He is president of Audax Renewables and among his greatest successes are the La Sirena supermarkets.

José Elías’s defense of businessmen

“If you have a company, you are an exploiter“He began one of the messages he shared on his social networks. After this very forceful message he clarified that “at least that is what society makes you feel.”

“Businessmen are painted as unscrupulous people who only seek money, as if we don’t care about our teams nor absolutely anything,” Elías continued. However, he wanted to make it clear that “the reality is that the vast majority of us are not like that.”

The billionaire has said that rather, they are “people who risk their assets” and that “he doesn’t sleep at night thinking about how to pay the payroll.” And he has also assured that they tend to see employees “as an extension of our family” because they often forget that “this is a boat in which we all row.”

“The businessman says where to go and assumes the risk. And the team is the one who makes it possible for the company to move forward“, stated Elías. These go hand in hand because, according to him, “none works without the other” and they are necessary “to create wealth in the country.”

For this reason, he wanted to make it clear that he will defend the figure of the businessman because “it’s enough to demonize those who create jobs.” And it has gone further: “Without entrepreneurs who take the risk, there are no companies. And without companies, there is no future.”
