“Now the difference between working a lot and working a little is practically zero”

The Catalan businessman Jose Eliasowner of La Sirena and with an estimated net worth of 900 million euros, is a regular at podcasts and interviews in which he gives his vision on the economy and finances.

In one of his latest interventions, he has been interviewed on the podcast Find your lifewhere he was very critical of the lack of incentives that is in current jobs.

“The difference between work a lot and work a little is practically zero,” says the Catalan businessman in the interview, where he maintains that effort is no longer rewarded as before.

According to the 49-year-old businessman from Badalona, ”people used to work and have money,” which is why he maintains that, in his opinion, ““We are in a period of decline.”

This decline has been achieved, among other reasons, due to a generalized loss of identity: “It has been completely lost the pride of belonging to any tribe, to any pack,” says Elías.

The businessman gives as an example the hypothetical case of a war being declared: “If they declare a war on you and they send you a letter that you have to go to the front, you run away like a rat“, although he admits that he would also try to avoid it to his children, something that his father would not do.

In a more controversial aspect, Elías added that without that pride of belonging, the system of rights and benefits is unsustainable. He gave as an example measures such as layoffs or unemployment and says that, although you do not feel that you are harming someone in your own group“you spend all day hacking the system.”
