The Ibex revalidates new historical highs and reaches 16,200 points

The Ibex 35 marks a new intraday historical high after reaching 16,200 points. Specifically, the Madrid selective is trading above 16,262 in the mid-session, with an increase of 0.53%, boosted by the heavyweights of the index such as Telefónica (+1%), Repsol (+1%) or Inditex (+0.38%). The principle of agreement for the reopening of the Administration in the United States, which puts an end to 41 days of blockade, the longest period in history, boosts the stock markets in Europe.

Bankinter analysts explain that the package of measures sponsored by Republicans and supported by eight Democrats to temporarily finance the federal government and allow its reopening reduces the uncertainties derived from the lack of economic indicators and facilitates the decisions of the Federal Reserve, as well as allowing the salary recovery of employees. The government shutdown has led to the dismissal of numerous administration employees; their reinstatement will help American private consumption gradually normalize because officials will once again receive their payroll.

In this context, the German Dax becomes the exception on the Old Continent with a flat price. On the other hand, the increases are led by the Italian FTSE MIB (+0.8%), the British FTSE 100 (+0.7%), while the CAC40 advances 0.65%.
