The Spanish Treasury places 6,077 million in 6 and 12 month bills but raises the interest rate

The Treasury has awarded this Tuesday 6,077 million euros in the auction of six- and twelve-month bills, in which the interest paid on these securities has slightly increased. In the case of the auction of the twelve month letters has placed 4,129.094 million euros at a marginal interest of 2.048%, when last December it had established it at 2.004%.
In six month lettersthe Treasury has placed 1,948.142 million, with a marginal rate of 1.981%. This represents a slight increase compared to the last auction where the marginal interest rate was 1.968%. Investors have demanded securities for an amount of 10,203,797 millionof which 3,909.298 million corresponded to six-month bills and 6,294.499 million to twelve-month bills.
The Treasury had set an emission target of 5,500 to 6,500 million of euros in this auction. The institution will return to the market on Thursday and offer between 5,000 and 6,000 million in an auction of three-year bonds and fifteen- and fifty-year obligations.
