These are the officials whose salary could increase the most after the increase proposed by the Government

Following the refusal of the UGT, CSIF and CCOO unions to the Government’s offer to increase the salaries of civil servants by 10% between 2025 and 2028, the Ministry of Public Function presented last Thursday a new initiative with a higher percentage to thus improve the remuneration of more than three and a half million public workers throughout the country.

In this meeting, it was proposed that the increase be 11%, but this could reach 11.5% due to accumulation, since each increase produces the salary level left by the previous increase. However, The Government indicated that it is “immovable”a fact that did not completely convince some unions. As happened last week, this time there is still no agreement to set the increase.

Which public workers will have the biggest increase

The suggested 11% would increase salaries over these four years, although The exact percentage that will be added in each of the exercises has not yet been specified.. Despite this, the Ministry insisted during the meeting that the increase cannot exceed 4% between 2025 and 2026.

The salary of a public worker can be complicated to calculate, since it involves some aspects such as three-year periods, the specific complements of each employee or those of destination. If only the latter is taken into account, The officials who would earn the most would be those in category A1whose salary after the increase planned by the Government would increase by approximately 3,300 euros compared to 2025.

This is because the remuneration associated with group A is already higher than that of the rest of the categories. Furthermore, those in subgroup 1 are the positions that involve greater responsibility and they have a higher level of demand in the entrance tests, a fact that means they receive a higher salary. If this 11% increase were applied, His salary would be above 36,300 euros.

In the case of the rest of the groups, since they have lower salaries than this, the percentage would imply smaller amounts. For example, those in the subgroup A2they would charge some 34,120 euros. For his part, the group B would achieve salaries of 32,320 eurosthose of C1 would go from approximately 27,230 to 30,230 euros and those of C2 could add 28,290 euros annually in 2028.
