WiZink increases its losses to 9.2 million euros in the first nine months of 2025



Wizink expanded its ‘red numbers’ in the first nine months of 2025 up to 9.2 million euros, compared to the 5.4 million it registered at the end of 2024, according to the accounts published in the Bank of Spain.

During the first three quarters, the bank recorded a decrease in its income: on the one hand, the interest margin fell by 7.4%, to 200.7 million euros, while net commissions fell by 13.3%, to 24.7 million euros. In this way, The gross margin registered a decrease of 8.5% until Septemberup to 224.4 million euros.

However, the entity also reduced its costs: cut its administrative expenses by 6.0%up to 112.2 million euros. Within this item, personnel costs represented 33% of the total and decreased slightly, by 2.2%, to 38.0 million euros.

Regarding the balance, the stocks of WiZink loans stood at the end of September in 2,708 million euros, 2.4% less than the credit volume it had as of September 30, 2024.

The bank, however, recorded an increase of 7.58% in the volume of its clients’ savings, either in accounts or deposits. In total, it reached 3,273 million euros. These figures are at an individual level, that is, they do not take into account other businesses of the WiZink Group. At a consolidated level, The group recorded losses of 7.1 million euros.

Six million in transformation of the entity

Asked about this difference of two million euros of losses, The bank has explained that it is due to accounting conceptssince goodwill is amortized at an individual and unconsolidated level. It is also a consequence of the interest rate risk coverage that becomes effective when consolidating the amortization vehicles. Thus, he explains that the result of the execution of the business is actually a loss of seven million euros, compared to five million euros.

Furthermore, with respect to the increase in losses between 2025 and 2024, the bank highlights that during the first nine months of this year it has recognized an extraordinary expense of six million euros aimed at transforming the entity and gaining efficiency.

WiZink has indicated that it is currently focused on the execution of its new 2025-2029 strategic plan, which aims to diversify the business, promote Aplazame and Lendrock, and grow through strategic alliances with third parties. In fact, reports that Aplazame’s business registered an increase of 11% in credit volume business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) until reaching 120 million euros.

Lendrock, for its part, reached a total number of outstanding loans of more than 36,000 (13% more than at the end of 2024). The bank makes it clear that its objective is to return to profitability in 2027 at a consolidated levelafter a “transformational” 2025.
