Gaza, a conflict for short-sighted people without borders

Two years and one day have passed. It is not a condemnation, it is more than that. It is the time suffered since 7-O massacre in which more than 1,219 Israelis died, 251 were taken hostage, of which 47 are still being held, including 25 deceased, according to official sources. That black October day was the trigger for another massacre that is now being experienced in Gaza -more radical in number of deaths- that exceed 68,000.
The war was started by Hamas although it was clear that it was going to lose, from the point of view of deaths and destruction. But wars are started for multiple reasons and objectives, and that of Hamas was not about winning by force but by strategy and psychologyamong other things he wanted to break the “Abraham Accords” and for Israel to be isolated worldwide; For this it was enough for Netanyahu to act as he has done andThousands of Gazans became martyrs of the cause and the whole world would see the barbarity. A very expensive price for so much dead.
Those were the original reasons. However, circumstances have become more complicated for Hamas and the numbers have become devastating, even more so than predictable: 68,000 dead, 180,000 injured and maimedamong the victims 18,000 children and 36,000 orphans; without forgetting almost total material destruction. Perhaps for this reason -and in principle-, Hamas has had to give in and sit down to negotiatealthough without seeing faces, with Israel; under the iron tutelage of Trump and the control of Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye.
While all these terrible and transcendent things were happening, the icing on the cake appeared, the flotilla that does not fly but sails Greta Thunberg and Ada Colauwith those 39 ships that came with aid to Gaza, and that were intercepted upon arrival by Israeli troops in Mediterranean waters. I do not rule out the good intentions of the attendees, including those of “Barbie Gaza”but the spotlight and publicity have gone to them when in reality the cameras should have pointed out the real sufferers, those in Gaza. But of course, many need to show off even if they are of no use and can only caress their navel.
There are people of good will who suffer a lot because of Gaza, it is true. But then if you look closely it seems people with problems, they are short-sighted, or one-eyed, or blind… They lack the other part of the vision to understand and accept the complete reality. Let’s see. They are so distressed by Gaza that their other eye – the right one, for example – stops working and They do not notice that Ukraine – like Teruel – also exists and it also remains immersed in a bloody war with Russia since 2022 with thousands of deaths on both sides.
It is not that things have to be done by weight or by number of deaths, but the figures are useful to have a precise vision. According to a research group at Uppsala University, Sweden, between 174,000 and 420,000 people have died in the three years of war between Russia and Ukraine. Those who spend all day with Gaza in their mouths, who are capable of enlisting in a flotilla without a Biodramina on hand, then do not want to see the blood that also flows through other lands not so far away.
What can be done with those people of good will but so myopic that they only see the dead if they come from Gaza. They are people who always have their short look at the same point of viewand don’t take them away from there. Don’t tell them that in Sudan they are suffering a civil war that has caused a humanitarian crisis, nor that in the Congo have been mired in civil wars for decades, nor that in Syria They have still been at war since 2011… No, they are not hoaxes from the right-wing, left-wing, or centrist press. They are not hoaxes, they are realities like fists that some do not want to see because theirs is not humanitarian aid but rather the little salon battles for well-to-do bourgeois.
