Iberdrola installs 500 new charging points at Airbus production centers in Spain



Iberdrola and Airbus have executed their strategic agreement to install and operate nearly 500 charging points for electric vehicles in the production centers of the aerospace company in Spain, as reported this Thursday by the electric company chaired by Ignacio Sánchez Galán.

This alliance, Iberdrola highlighted in a statement, reinforces the commitment of both companies to mobility “more sustainable, efficient and innovative.”

The company has explained that charging points managed through intelligent digital solutions allow optimize consumption and actively contribute to reducing emissions. In addition, they are integrated into a platform that facilitates their use from mobile phones, “which improves the experience of Airbus employees, visitors and internal fleets.”

The energy company has also highlighted that this agreement consolidates a collaboration aimed at transform mobility in the industrial environment that began in 2019.

“The agreement reached with Airbus represents a new milestone in our commitment to accelerate the electrification of transport through efficient, intelligent and sustainable charging infrastructure,” he noted. David Martínez, director of the Spanish Client Business.

Iberdrola representatives visited the Airbus facilities to learn first-hand about the progress of the project and strengthen collaboration between both companies.

Participating in the tour on behalf of Airbus were Eduardo Carrasco, responsible for energy and waste management at Airbus facilities in Spain; Raúl Patón, Energy Manager; and Adrián Garijo, Energy Manager.

On behalf of Iberdrola, they attended Pablo de Regoyos (Head of Smart Mobility Companies and AAPP) and Pablo Trincado, both from the Smart Mobility area, as well as Patricia Blanco (Head of Key Account Managers) and Aurora Ortega, both from the Large Clients and PPAs area.
