These are the new prices from today

As usually happens almost every year, the different telecommunications companies update their rates to be able to balance their accounts due to the increase they have suffered in network, technology or content costs. This Thursday, January 8, 2026, Vodafone Spain will increase its rates by about 2.5 euros per month (VAT included) on average.

On this occasion, the red operator has put aside the strategy of linking the renewal of its rates to the evolution of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which has closed 2025 with an average of 2.7% compared to the percentage increase of 3.9% that Vodafone rates will suffer. The rise ranges between one and five euros a month depending on the contracted services.

It was a formula that the operator launched in 2023 when it was still owned by the British Vodafone Group but does not convince the new managers of Zegona.

“In the current environment of the sector, marked by a sustained increase in the cost of digital services, platforms audiovisual and network capacity, it is necessary to maintain an adequate level of investment that ensures a reliable service, safe and maximum quality”, company sources have argued to justify the increase.

In this way, in mobile-only rates, including additional lines, the increase will be one euro, while For users who have fiber and Vodafone rates in your home it will be 1.5 euros.

In 5G portable internet rates, for its part, the average monthly increase is two euros, while for convergent packets fiber and mobile will be three euros. The rates that will experience the largest monthly increases are the so-called Unlimited Home and Unlimited Business, with an increase of five euros.

To all this we must add that packages that include Disney+ they will become more expensive euro with respect to the predetermined increase, that is: if the contracted rate increases by two euros per month but includes Disney+ The total increase will be three euros.

However, the telecom controlled by the British investment firm Zegona has emphasized that This update does not affect “social rates” or services such as Secure Net, One Number, Super WiFi or MultiSIM. Vodafone has also explained that the increase in rates is accompanied by benefits in the mobile data section (the 25 GB line goes to 30 GB, for example) or in the fiber connections (the 300 megabytes becomes 600).

Uploads next week Orange and Movistar

In addition to Vodafone, the other two large telecommunications companies operating in Spain will also raise their rates. Orange will increase its rates starting next January 12 by an average of 3.8%depending on the type of package. The increase will translate into an increase of between one and six euros per month.

One day later, on January 13, Movistar will increase its prices by an average of 4%. Telefónica will keep some rates frozen such as Movistar Base and Autónomosand the low-cost brand O2 will be left out of the update. The most common increase will be around THREE euros per monthalthough most of the increases will be below five euros per month.

The fourth national operator, Digihas distanced itself from its rivals and will add another year without raising the amount of its rates. From the Romanian telecom they have boasted that They have been in Spain for 17 years and “far from raising prices, we have improved them” by providing higher quality of service.

Specifically, they refer to the improvement of the ‘IlimiTODO’ package, with unlimited gigs and calls, as well as rates with cumulative gigs, increasing the gigs and improving their price. Furthermore, it has given more speed at Fibra Smart rates, going from 300 Mb to 500 Mb and from 600 Mb to 750 Mb, for the same price.
